Meet Angela Stevens

I am Angela Stevens, an Emmy award-winning stylist and healthy hair enthusiast. Throughout my career, I have focused on creating easy solutions for women on the go. I have a passion for textured hair and I am dedicated to protecting it. Highlights in my career have been creating my own salon and safe space for women to embrace transitions and change. I am also the creator and owner of conscious curls, a line of extensions and wigs that are easy to use and blend seamlessly into the hair and lifestyles of women with kinky, coily, curly, and wavy hair. For the past 16 years, I have been focused on professional experiences in creating simple solutions that address the complexity of textured hair. I have now partnered with Cantu to create the Protective Styles by Angela line. We have created this line to promote hair health and provide solutions for people who wear wigs, braids, locs, and other protective styles.

How can I join the Cantu Crew?

How old should my child be before using Cantu Care for Kids?

Your child should be at least 3 years of age + before joining the #CantuCrew!

Do you have products that could change my hair texture?

We do not have products that change the texture of your hair. We do have an awesome curl stretcher that helps elongate your curls!

Does Cantu make your hair grow?

Healthy hair growth starts with well-conditioned hair, and each of our products contains shea butter to keep hair hydrated and moisturized.

What’s the LCO method?

At Cantu we actually promote LCO instead of LOC. Using oil after the cream helps seal the moisture into the hair shaft. If you were to put cream on after the oil, it wouldn’t get absorbed into the hair.

Why does Cantu’s Custard leave white flakes in my hair?

Our Custard is an amazing product when used correctly! When you apply this product make sure your hair is clean and apply to soaking wet hair only. It’s perfect for coils and wash and go’s.

Do you have products to make my edges grow?

A woman’s edges are very delicate. You want to make sure you’re not straining the hair by pulling them up in a bun or excessive braiding. We have an amazing Grow Strong Strengthening Treatment that helps promote hair growth.

Do you test products on animals?

We do not test our final products on animals, but we do however like to test on family and friends!

Does Cantu have isopropyl alcohol in the Leave-in Repair Cream?

Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) can be drying to the hair if used on its own. This is not the case with Cantu. Our Leave in Conditioning Repair Cream has always utilized a great deep conditioning ingredient, of which IPA is a component ingredient used in only tiny amounts – less the 1/25 of a teaspoon and evaporates before it reaches your hair. Please note that our award-winning formula has not changed.

Why haven’t we seen this ingredient on the back of the jars before now?

The European Union (EU) compliance requires us to list it differently than we’ve listed before! Nothing has changed. 🙂
